SAINT PETER'S, LOUDWATER

St Peter's church has a campus comprising a church building that is an amalgam of a Georgian chapel and a Victorian apse, a separate post WW2 small hall, a more recent large hall and a youth centre in a former vicarage. A master plan was shaped that would unify all of this facility around a large and transparent new reception area - and with the addition of a new main auditorium.

The first stage of implementation - harmonizing the interior of the Georgian and Victorian church building - has been completed, with a new entrance and east window, sensitive decor, new carpeting, lighting and seating as well ease of access for all members of the congregation. An aesthetic tension has been replaced by a welcoming sense of vibrant peace.
